Well, it started out with a bang. Technically 3 rapid fire bangs.
Something happened w/ my SW99. During the first stage of the first match, my gun malfunctioned and chain fired three, possibly four rounds. Freaking scary shit.
We stopped and took the gun offline. I had just cleaned it, so I can't blame it on any kind of fouling, but something weird happened.
I went back on the line and shot a full mag with not issues, so they let me re-run that stage.
Again, no issues and was able to shoot the rest of the match.
It left me very rattled tho. I only managed to place second in the Marksman category.
It was a 4 stage match and even trying relaxation exercises, it was not until the final stage before I felt settled down from the chain fire incident.
I will probably sent her off to the S&W factory for a check-up.

First IDPA Shoot today
Did my first IDPA shoot today. It was freaking cold to, like snow cold. Its April for crying out loud!
I did pretty good for a newb. Plus I was using my new XS Sights.
What I learned today was that I need to slow down. Fast Misses don't count. And more front sight focus.
Maybe I'll go blow some cash this weekend and shoot a box of bullets learning to use my new sights...Freaking ammo shortage sucks, thank you mr president.
I really like this IDPA competition. For those that don't know, its meant to simulate real world tactical pistol situations. Shooting from cover, shooting on the move, tactical reloading, etc... Unlike IPSC, IDPA limits your weapon mods. This keeps it from turning into Who has the Most Expensive Pistol wins kind of competition.
